Driving Options

Guests are welcome to drive themselves to the ranch, however, they are responsible for their own safety and to be able to self-rescue. The last 70 miles is on a dirt road with varying difficulty, so a high-clearance vehicle with tires for off-pavement use (E-Range all-terrain tire is recommended) is required. At least one good all-terrain spare tire needs to be available in the case of a flat tire. Examples of high clearance vehicles: truck, jeep, suburban, or a large SUV.

*It is also quite popular for guests to drive their own Side x Sides, ATVs, or motorcycles to the ranch and then go exploring on their own. We recommend instead of hauling the machines all the way to the ranch, to unload in Mesquite, St. George, Colorado City/Cane Beds, or occasionally at the Mt Trumbull Schoolhouse (located enroute to the ranch) and drive the machines from one of those locations. Fuel is available to guests only. It is not available to the public.

Guest Reviews

Just returned from an October visit to the Bar 10. Our small group thoroughly enjoyed all the activities provided. We rode horses – calm, sweet ex-ranch horses – on a desert trail with a great guide ( Issac – thank you!) and on the next day we rode ATVs 13 miles to the North rim of the Grand Canyon then hiked down to the bottom with Kason ( Thank you!!) as our guide. I had never ridden an ATV before and…

We were treated to a friendly day full of horseback riding, skeet shooting, ranching tales, lunch and dinner, and a late night show from this 4th generation ranching family. This is the perfect spot for before or after your Grand Canyon tour. Helicopters take you into and out of the Grand Canyon from here – what a thrill ride! No cell service and beautiful spacious scenery means you can relax…

From making reservations with Sarah to Joseph and his amazing staff walking out to greet our group of 18 on our UTV’s I can’t say enough about our stay at Bar 10. The new wagons are a great addition to our Grand Canyon experience. Food was always tasty and served with a smile. Joseph’s stories around the campfire added a nice touch to our stay. Really hope we go back soon. Loved our trip to the Bar 10.
