As winter recedes, spring breathes new life into the Arizona Strip. From mid-March to early May, the ranch awakens with green fields, wildflowers blooming across the canyon’s edge, and the joyful return of migrating birds.
This is the perfect time for bird watchers and wildlife lovers. With fewer crowds and crisp, mild weather, guests enjoy guided nature walks, photography sessions, and even quiet mornings on the porch listening to canyon wrens call through the red rock cliffs.
And let’s not forget spring’s most anticipated moment—our ATV and UTV trails reopen as snow melts from the upper elevations. These early-season rides are nothing short of magical, with bright skies, sweeping views, and trails that are just beginning to wake up after the quiet of winter.

Summer: Rafting Season, Family Adventures & Canyon Exploration
From May through September, Bar 10 is at its liveliest. Summer is our Colorado River rafting season, and we welcome travelers from across the country looking to begin (or end) their trip with ranch hospitality and a little adventure.

Fall: Golden Light and Quiet Trails
Fall might just be my favorite season at Bar 10 Ranch. The crowds of summer start to thin out, the weather is cooler but still ideal for outdoor activities, and the landscape transforms into a canvas of gold and orange.
The trails become quieter—perfect for reflective rides or serene hikes to lesser-known overlooks. Our ATV and UTV tours in the fall are especially beautiful, with soft light pouring across the canyon, creating that perfect golden-hour photo every time.
This is also when we see many returning guests, folks who’ve been here before and now want to experience the ranch during a quieter, more peaceful time of year. It’s the best season for photographers, couples seeking solitude, and anyone looking for a slower, richer canyon experience.
